Gas Sampling System

Current stage of industrialization and the demand for improved quality of life has resulted in increased exposure to air pollution coming from industrial activities, traffic and energy production. A number of metals are emitted predominantly into the air among other pollutants owing to the various industrial activities, These include Antimony , Arsenic, Beryllium, Cadmium, Chromium, Cobalt, Lead, Manganese, Mercury, Nickel, Selenium. The pollution due to these metals occurs in various amounts and generally comes in the form of compounds and / or metal fines or fibres. Of these, the heavy metals cadmium, lead and mercury have been investigated at length. Though technological improvements and the elimination of, or reduction in, some processes, products and materials have resulted in the decrease in environmental exposure to these three metals, they are still present in the atmosphere and are carried to places remote from the sources of emission by means of long-range atmospheric transport.
